1. Storytelling Performances
Hendre offers tailor made storytelling performances for every High School year level. His performances are contemporary, original, suspenseful, unpredictable, gripping, insightful and in many cases extremely humorous.
People who have seen him work with teenagers grasp that Hendre has a keen understanding of and affinity with young people’s interests, culture and the issues they face in the transitional years of adolescence. He immediately grabs the attention of his teenage audiences and holds it throughout his performance.
Because Hendre tells his own stories, his performances are a marvelous lead into a unit focusing on personal, creative and persuasive Story Writing.
With each storytelling booking Hendre offers a free writing workshop.

Twist stories
These stories reference the proud tradition of Roald Dahl and Paul Jennings. Hendre’s stories for this age level are contemporary, quirky, exciting, unpredictable and funny. Just the way they like them! Hendre also leaves free copies of his books for follow up work in the classroom.
Yr 9/10/11/12
Stories of Transition
Hendre tells powerful stories that cover many of the issues that confront this age group including bullying, relationships, self esteem and peer group pressure. As Hendre’s stories are contemporary, insightful and challenging, they provide a great opportunity for follow-up discussion and class work including creative writing.
2.Writing Workshops:
Persuasive writing
Hendre has workshops available for five types of persuasive writing including:
- Editorial opinion
- Cartoon with a message
- Advertising
- Article
- Propaganda.
Creative writing
Hendre’s stories are a marvelous gateway through which students can gain the crucial concept: that all writers
“Place their life into the hands of their imagination.”
In this workshop Hendre gives students the opportunity to put this into practice. He shows them how simple and rewarding it can be.
N.B. Each Participant in the workshop receives individual and positive feedback on their writing from Hendre.
FEES
$500 minimum per booking. This price covers up to one hundred students for the storytelling component: (60-90 Mins) and the free optional Writing Workshop component for up to 25 students: (60-90 Mins).
Additional students for the storytelling component will be charged at $5.00 per student.
N.B. Special rates apply for multiple sessions / workshops & Artist In Residencies.
